Well this question's really out of date, but if anyone still needs help I can try. :) 1st. Make sure your Downloads folder (which should be located in Users(Current User Account)DocumentsEA GamesThe Sims 2Downloads.) has a capital 'D'. So it's Downloads. Spelled just like that.
2nd. Make sure you extracted the files correctly. Once you download them, don't just throw the file into the Downloads folder. You have to extract them using WinRAR or another kind of extracting program. (Download WinRAR here: http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm)
3rd. Make sure you READ ABOUT THE DOWNLOAD! Make sure you have the correct games and expansions, the right meshes, and so on. Make sure if it says you need to download a mesh from a site, you download it! (It should say if you need a mesh in the 'Downloads' tab at modthesims2. If your downloading from xmsims, click on the photo of the download you want, and you'll get the download window.)
4th. If you were downloading a Sim or a house/community lot, make sure you INSTALL IT INTO THE GAME. SIMS AND LOTS DO NOT GO IN THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER LIKE CLOTHES, HAIR, ETC. First save the Sim or Lot to your desktop, or the destination where you first save the downloads before extracting them. Then extract the file/files. Next, double-click on the Sim or Lot. It should say if you want to install them into your game. Click install. (Be sure to have the Sims 2 Clean Installer. It'll install Sim and Lot packages into your game with ease. Download it here: http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/. YOU NEED THE SIMS 2 CLEAN INSTALLER FOR SIMS, HOUSES, AND LOTS. If you dont have that, a message may come up that says 'Windows cannot open this file.' If that message comes up, then you need the Sims 2 Clean Installer!)
5th. Check if your Custom Content is enabled in your game. Go into the neighborhood of your choice, and click on the 3 ..'s in the bottom left hand corner. Then select 'Enable Custom Content.' (I might not be dead on about the Options menu of the Sims 2, considering I've played the Sims 3 mostly now-days, but somewhere in there it DOES say Enabled Custom Content! I promise! :-) After you've enabled the content, restart your game. YOU MUST RESTART YOUR GAME. :)
6th. Do you know where to look for your content in the game?
If you downloaded hair..:
1. Go into Create A Sim or In a mirror click on Change Appearance.
2. Your custom hair should look like this: http://www.simswiki.info/images/c/c3/ChangeSim1.jpg With the little star looking thingys on the hair picture.
3. If your hair you downloaded was pink, blue, bright red or some different thing other than the regulars, you might need to click on the little Star Looking Thingy next to the Red hair. Thats for different color hair, and some of your styles might be in there!
For clothes..:
1. Go into Create A Sim or go to a community store and click Buy or Try On
2. Your custom clothes should be under Everyday, PJ's, Underwear, Swimwear, Athletic or Outerwear if you have Seasons, considering which kind you downloaded.
3. Make sure you click Outfit if you download an Outfit, and Top if you download a Top, and Pants if, well, you get it. :)
4. Pay in mind not all clothes fit all Sims. Make sure you selected Toddler, Child, Teen, Young Adult or Adult for the correct clothing.
For furniture..:
1. Go into Buy Mode.
2. If you downloaded a Bed, click on the Beds. If you downloaded a Dresser, click on the Dressers. Etc..
3. Make sure to click on the little Flower next to the Table in the main categories. Alot of the custom content downloaded goes in one of those, so make sure to check EVERYWHERE.
(If your hair, clothes, or furntiture comes out looking funny, or doesn't show up at all, make sure you downloaded the mesh!)
7th. If you don't know what the mesh is, it's kinda what holds the whole download together. Without the mesh, you get, well, nothing! The mesh can be found either right with the download file, or by it. There will usually be a sign that says 'Mesh required, get here.' or 'Link to Mesh' something like that. Pay in mind not all products need a mesh, so dont freak out if there isn't a mesh there! ;P The product will usually tell you if it needs one or not.
If every single one of these steps didnt help you, I have NO clue what to tell you. Maybe post a question at Modthesims2.com or hey, read this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Downloading_for_Fracking_Idiots
That's what helped me. If your new to downlaoading content, don't worry, you'll get it. It might not seem simple at first, but it is, trust me. Or if you've been downloading forever and ages, and you just have a problem, posting a question on a forum never hurt! GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY SIMMING!

has your download folder got a capital D like this Downloads not downloadsSirFartsALot
Thank you
I had this problem. I clicked the start button on the lower left of the computer screen, clicked programs/all programs button, clicked the sims 2 double deluxe (or whatever game you have), then clicked sims 2 body shop. when the body shop is loaded, click create parts then create clothing, make-up, whatever you want to download, and when that loads, click the article of that type you want to download, crate a project name for it (it can be anything. you never have to use it again), click the export button at the bottom, and then click where it will appear in. If it is clothes you can clicke everyday, formal, etc. then click the import to game button. Now go to the sims, click enable custom content at the screen before you choose a neighbourhood, and it will appear in the game. I'm sure there are other ways but that's the way I did it and it works fine for me! PS. Sims 2 Body Shop should be automatically downloaded when you download the sims game you have. I didn'y download body shop but it was on there.

Thank you
if nothing at all works, no matter how many times you try, I think un-installing the sims 2 and all its expansion packs and then re-installing them all over again along with the custom content will be the best way to get it going again.smileypeacesign
Thank you
Download WinRar and unzip the files. Then enable content, quit game, and try again. that should work.georgia
Thank you
I have windows 7 too. If you have win-rar, thats the real only thing you need. If you don't have it click here and get it http://www.win-rar.com/download.htmlWhen you download custom content from sites (mosthesims2,etc.) you need to extract the files. So when you click open on the download win-rar should come up. When it comes up at the top theres different buttons, click the one that says extract files. Then another thing will come up. Go through your files till you find sims2. Now you have to go through sims 2 and find the download file. Once you find it a click ok. Then your done and it should be in your game! But if it isn't working you need a meash, so i'd stick with sims2.com, there not as complex.
hope that helped! :)
Josh
Thank you

How To Download Cc For Sims 3
try reinstalling it mite work it work for mepumink
Thank you
try reinstaling it worked for meTay
Thank you
Well, this is really late, but I'll post. Have you made a Download folder in The Sims 2 game folders? Also, you might need winRAR. Download it, and open it. Right click your custom content and hit 'Extract Here' if it is in a folder of it's on. If it is a Body Shop Package file.. Right click it and select 'Open with'. then 'Sims 2 Body Shop Package Installer' (Something like that.) Hit install. the rest should be done for you. If it is a normal PACKAGE.. after extracting. it should be in the game. One more thing. Re-check the site you downloaded it from. you might need to download a mesh!Rhi
Thank you

The Sims games have been popular since 2000 when the first game came out. Since then, Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4 have been released. Sims 4 is the most recent addition to the series of games and is very popular among people of all ages. Although Sims comes with many things to do and play with, like customization of your characters, homes and parks, sometimes it’s not enough; that’s where custom content comes into play. People from all over the world create custom content such as clothes, furniture, and hair. This makes gameplay so much more enjoyable and current with the trends that are going on. The clothing, hair and makeup mimic what is popular in the real world today. In this article, I will explain how to get custom content for Sims 4. I have a MacBook, but the steps are pretty much the same for PC users!
Step One: Make sure you have the resource file you need to process the mods. The story of god download torrent.
On your computer go to Finder → Documents → Electronic Arts→ The Sims 4→Mods. There should be a file already in there named, “Resource.cfg” If this file isn’t in that folder it should be easy to find online!
Step Two: Find some custom content you want to download.
The most popular website to find custom content for Sims games is The Sims Resource. You can find custom content on other sites like Tumblr by searching “sims 4 cc.' On The Sims Resource, you can find custom content for all of the Sims games! Once on the website, you’ll go to Downloads→ The Sims 4→ Show All (or whatever content you’re looking for). You can always filter the search for specific items, but you won’t be able to search for items without creating an account. Using The Sims Resource is free, but using the site is easier if you pay the $3.99 a month. When downloading content from this website, you can only download one thing at a time and you have to wait ten seconds before it will load onto your computer. With a paid account you can add everything you want to download to a cart and download everything all at once which makes the process a lot easier.
Step Three: Download the content
Once you found what you’re looking for, click the item. Download game little big city untuk nokia x2. Make sure you read the description. B/s download speed. Sometimes items for download don’t include the mesh. The mesh is the base item it needs to make the item you’re looking at. Most things for download have the mesh included, and if it doesn’t the link to download the mesh should be provided. For an example, I’m going to download some hair.
In the description, you can see that the creator of the content suggests how to have the content show up the best. In this example, the content creator says to play the game with the sims details on very high, have your game updated, and turn laptop mode off. Of course, these are all suggestions, but suggestions that could help with gameplay. All of these suggestions can be managed in Game Options once playing Sims 4.
After reading the description, it’s time to download! There should be a green download button right below the picture of the content.
Click that button and you should be redirected to the download page. Like I said before, without a paid account you have to wait at least 10 seconds before the download will take place.
Step Four: Moving the custom content into the Mods folder.
Once the ten seconds is up, the content should be moved into your “downloads” folder on your computer. Make sure the file ends in, “.package”. If it doesn’t, you might have to open a zip file. The software on my Mac automatically unzips files that are zipped, but on PCs you might have to download or purchase a separate program, like winrar, to unzip files like that. Most custom content you’ll find won’t be zipped, but just make sure before you download if you don’t have the right programs to unzip them!
From here you’ll drag the file into the Mods folder in the Electronic Arts file. I like to keep my custom content separated just in case it doesn’t work so I know where to find it to delete it. Here, I’ve moved my new hair into my hair file.
Step Five: Make sure the custom content works in your game.
For this step, you need to open your game and make sure your custom content is turned on. When you enter the game this screen should pop up with the new custom content you’ve downloaded:
This means that your content was downloaded successfully and will work in your game. The next step is to make sure that your custom content is turned on. Go to the three dots at the top right of the screen→Game Options→Other, and then you should see this:
Make sure that both of these are checked. If they are not, check them, save the changes and restart the game. From here you’ll be able to make your sim! In create a sim, you’ll be able to find the content you just downloaded (if it’s clothes, shoes, makeup or skins. Not furniture or items.) They’ll appear where the other items would but in the top left corner, it will have a tool icon. This is some of the custom hair I’ve downloaded:
Step Six: Enjoy the custom content!
![Content Content](/uploads/1/2/6/5/126575336/121625353.jpg)
Playing with custom content is so much better than playing with the items the game comes with. Here’s a comparison of a sim with custom content (hair, clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories, and skins) and a sim with just the items from the game.
Remember custom content is not all safe, so watch out for sketchy sites! The Sims Resource is a well known, trusted site that a lot of simmers use to enhance thgameplayplay, but not all sites are the same! Be safe and enjoy!
